HWE Giganuuk Saga - Part 1 An UNDERstanding

Description

Well, I'm sure this is a shakeup for many of my followers. :)

Despite my thorough lack of activity there, I still maintain a position as an administrator in the alternate kaiju universe Hollow World Enigma, and every once in a while, I contribute a piece to it. After a couple of months of labor, its my pleasure to introduce the first of three major pieces of writing about one of the biggest events in the shared setting thus far, the awakening of Giganuuk, a classic kaiju of mine and the first Rank 6, the largest and most dangerous class of kaiju found so far. The damage he can cause is catastrophic. How will they stop him? Well, keep reading and find out. ;)

If you've read it, and wonder why its so low on the kaiju count, well that was kind of my intention. There are three portions for this, and for the first, I wanted to prove you could write a good narrative with human characters alone, both several of mine and many from guest contributors. Whether or not I succeeded, well, I'll let the readers decide. Either way it was fun as hell for me to pen and it made for a good character building excercise when I get to writing the Fathom versions of these characters properly. Until next time, hope you enjoy.

An awesome start to the three-parter! I'm loving all these new characters. Horvath, Paul, and Oliver already have had such strong showings and they make great additions to the overall HWE world. You really did capture that cinematic feel. You handled Rex quite well, too. It's always fun to see someone else write my characters, as it helps me see parts of them that even I didn't fully realize. This worked very well as a reintroduction for him to military operations. Overall, you have me excited for more!
