note: With this, Final War begins. Obsidious, the only elemental in the Godzilla branch of the TOHOVERSE, is first. Frankly, Obsidious is a creature that desperately needed more time on the concept design floor. He was too smooth looking to be anything related to a volcano. So, I gave him a jagged, uneven look, more akin to volcanic rock. Also, in case you thnk I 'overdid' it with the lava, this is when he first emerged from the smoldering remains of Mt. St. Helens, so of course he'd be covered in lava. He normally isn't that much covered. Also, the 'rams horns' in case you can't tell what that round shape is, is my little homage to the Balrog, a little important piece of my soul. (Thank you, Peter Jackson and WETA!) Well, anyway, I said what I wanted, so enjoy!
Part 1: An unatural disaster
Height: 60 meters
Length: 117 meters
Weight: Depends on his 'fuel reserves'
Eric Goldwin, G-Force recruit, had trouble believing in his conceptions of reality. But, the voice spoke again.
"I said, you're in. YOU ARE IN. Understand?" Kenichi Yamane, G-Force commander, said with a one sided smile. He liked the pallor on Eric's shocked face, "I realize we'd just talked the whole time earlier, which must have confused you. Well, I wanted to see if you were as big of a kaiju nut as Tatsuo and I, and you didn't disappoint. And, I wanted to make sure you were in before Final War got brought up. That way I don't have to worry about what I tell you. I trust you are satsified?"
Eric was beyond speechless. He felt like his voice box was in a diabetic coma. He could barely even babble "O-uh-uh-o-of-of course!" Tatsuo and Kenichi exchanged glances, happy and serious at the same time.
"Well, Final War. What can I tell you?" Kenichi muttered, deciding which part was best to start from.
"Well," Tatsuo took advantage of the indecision. He was obviously eager to tell. "It began on a quiet night in 2004. The Secretary of the U.N., Japanese, mind you, was flying home to Tokyo after a summit in New York. He had made a stop in Seattle, and spent the night there, But, as they flew away, something big happened. Something I'm sure you heard about. Mt. St. Helens erupted, or more accurately exploded." Eric nodded, that was big news then.
"Well, the plane was clipped by volcanic rock, destroying one of the wings. It careened out of control, we knew there was no chance of them surviving as it hit the ocean, exploding. At first, it seemed merely an accident of nature, but then somethig happened. At EDF Japanese headquarters, the Secretary and the entire crew of the plane suddenly....materialized in the middle of headquarters. There wasn't a scratch on them. No one knew what to think.
But they did. Suddenly, a group of men appeared, dressed, well.....like cosplayers. These were the Xilians, a strange organic/mechanic alien race. They had rescued them, and claimed they were here 'to make friends of earth.' They were unarmed, and seemed human enough, so we met them peacefully. The buzz around Japan was amazing! Aliens, and they chose to first make contact with the Japanese, to boot. (Even though EDF property is U.N. property.) Well, their, an older member of their race, went on a bit of a tour, meeting and greeting the people of earth. The second in command, a surprisingly attractive looking younger male, became an overnight sensation. The world was going to move in a bold new direction!
Then, You probably will again know what I'm talking about. The St. Helens crater, as it's called now, tremored violently. A massive, gargantuan bulk of bedrock rose up, lava gushing out of every nook and cranny, and it began to walk. Straight. Towards. Seattle. The beast came to be called Obsidious by the EDF, and an international crisis began. Confusion from a sudden kaiju appearance, especially one never seen before, is always crazy. The Xilians were as confused as we were. All of them, except one, who decied to take advantage of the situation, The 2nd in command, on live televison, turned and killed his superior, claiming control, Absolute control, of Xilians and earthlings alike. As one, the XIlians, as though they had been waiting for this, began a massive attack on earh unlike anything we'd ever encountered. Final War.... had begun.
-A living mass of volcanic bedrock, he is invulnerable to all but the heaviest damage
-Incredibly sharp, dense obsidian spines make excellent close combat tools
-Lava flows from his 'heart,' (though it's not infinite)
-Can practically be described as a walking volcano, all associated dangers apply
-Intelligence is best described as "unknown"
