Description

Gamera:

Height: 70 Meters (to top of shell)

Weight: 50,000 Tons

Alignment: Lawful Good

Abilities:

-Heat Absorption: Gamera, through unknown means, can absorb heat sources around him and use them to power its own body, the amount of power evident on the glowing portions of his carapace.

-Heat Breath: Gamera can release staggering amounts of stored energy from his mouth or any shell vent at enemies, causing profound damage to whoever is at the other end. It is not known why, but it is always green in tint.

-Empathic Symbiosis: Gamera's temperament and energy are mirrored by the holder of a mysterious jewel, and depending on the holder can even be manipulated into attacking or defending targets of no interest to the monster himself. He seems to gain power the more intense the feelings of the one holding the jewel. When not needed and/or when the jewel is in no one's hands, Gamera enters a dormant state inside its shell right where it stands, and does not move until needed or awakened again.

-Powered Flight: Through gathered energy, Gamera can shoot torrents of green flame from vents on his shell, using them to fly great distances. There are no indications as to limits of the time and distance he can cover as of yet.

Combat Records:

-Orient Empire Troops: 1 Win, 0 Losses, 0 Draws

-Gyaos: 1 Win, 0 Losses, 0 Draws

History: Peace is a truly delicate and ephemeral creature, rarely appearing and even more rarely in its natural environment. We as man are not able to coexist with peace in itself, it is never long before we are driven to move, and thus we frighten the fleeting peace away. War is always left when peace has left the gardens of earth, and that is something we have always known how to be around. Such was the case when a group of fanatical people decided to claim their right to rule, bringing old time imperialism to the fore, and a third war for the world broke loose. Death walked the streets of every city as they fell one by one to the onslaughts of the free world and a new movement trying to bring back the old ways.

In this confusion and torrent of chaos, something unusual happened. The Orient Empire, effortlessly conquering all in their path with extreme weaponry unlike any seen before, was advancing on China's last resistors. A young boy named Ken Stegall and his uncle Toru Onodera, a journalist, had come there to observe the combat from afar. Ken, who had in the first year lost both of his parents to the empire's attacks, discovered something unusual in a remote mountain cave where some of the resistors had been hiding.

A small shrine of a mysterious, humanoid thing he could only guess was a god, clutching a mysterious, glasslike jewel. Surrounding the idol were old carvings of numerous beasts unlike any he'd ever seen. He tried to grab the jewel, surprised no one had found it before, and right after it left the idol's hands, its one eye opened, and the mountain began to shake. The small group of guerilla's fled for their lives out of the collapsing cave, but were immediately spotted by one of the Orient's bipedal combat machines, and were gunned down, Toru and Ken barely escaping the rain of fire. Seeing the oncoming imperial forces for the first time, Ken grew angry at the oncoming face of his parent's killer, and just as it seemed they were doomed, the mountainside exploded!

The troops, confused by this development, halted, wary of oncoming attack. They were not expecting to see what eventually emerged. As the cloud of dust and falling rocks cleared, there was nothing but a massive shell of what appeared to be polished stone where the mountain once was. And even less they expected a billowing wall of green fire to emerge from one of the holes. The entire human battalion was swallowed up, and those in command ordered the rest of the troops to fall back. Then another surprise occurred, massive set of arms and legs sprouted out of the shell, standing to a towering height, bigger than some skyscrapers. It was a massive humanoid... turtle, and it was out to get them. It pursued the fleeing imperial troops with a savage roar, bathing them in flames and stomping them underfoot. The commanding officers ordered their mechanical weapon to fire on the creature, but its missiles did not even scratch the surface of its shell. It did get the terrorpin's attention, though. With a swift step, the beast turned on the much smaller machine, ravaging it until it was nothing but sparking circuits and scrap metal. Crushing its head in his hands, the turtle titan turned and roared in victory.

The Imperial forces ordered a full retreat, leaving this part of the land free. Ken and Toru, though their minds had been utterly blown by what they had seen, were pleased by the development. Toru spoke out mostly to himself, "Just what is that thing?" And Ken, somehow, knew the answer. "Gamera..."

:iconsurpriseplz: Surprise!!!!

I'm sure some of you are surprised to see this so soon, but here we are, the first entry into Gamera the Great. Its a little sparse in details, but we'll get there as the story develops. ;)

I've had the design I wanted for Gamera for some time, and I'm quite pleased with the way it looks, its quite distinct yet still recognizable. I plan on similar re-designs for all of the Gamera monsters, so don't expect this to be a rehash of what's been done.

Enjoy :D
